About Ponymarket

What is Ponymarket?

Ponymarket is a parody of prediction market websites where you trade shares on answers to community questions. Prices move as people trade or as more information about the question becomes known. Every event uses fictional credits called "bits," which have no cash value.

Ponymarket was inspired by the recent MLP G6 speculation caused by purported leaks of images and audio ahead of a supposed official announcement at Lauren Faust's My Little Pony panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. Many people have surmised that these leaks are fake, and possibly AI-generated. I myself got into a few debates about whether these leaked images and audio are real, and if so, why Hasbro is so chronically averse to making money. That got me thinking: what if there was a prediction market for events that happen in fandom communities, done with fake money and obviously for funsies? I thought the idea was so funny that I decided to spend 12 straight hours making it into a browser game, where the goal is to get to the top of the bits leaderboard by making correct predictions.

This is the first game I've ever made, and I had a lot of fun designing it! I hope someone gets a kick out of it.
